Halcyon in action

"We love these blades with their organic and ghost like transitions between the different metals"

Join us for an exciting new workshop with accomplished knifemaker Halcyon Window. Halcyon has been making knives for years and knows the art of San Mai - a traditional Japanese technique of layering different steels to produce beautiful blades that hold a sharp edge and are durable and resilient.

Over 3 days, students will learn how to forge weld billets from high-carbon and stainless steel and learn how to forge a large chef's knife and small paring knife.

The workshop is suitable for absolute beginners but some physical output is required. Participants will use a power hammer and high-speed belt grinders. If you are unsure this workshop is for you, get in touch and hopefully, we will be able to put your mind at ease.

We are offering 2 different workshops, one for the general public and one for the gender diverse & women among us.
