"Who doesn't love a Damascus knife ... combining beauty with high-performance cutting"

We are excited to be welcoming back Tobi from Metal Monkey Knives for a weekend of knifemaking.

After relocating to Tassie a couple of years ago, Tobi will be returning for a 2-day workshop, teaching students how to forge a Damascus steel billet into an 8-inch blade and shaping a traditional Japanese Wa style handle to go with it.

The Damascus billet will be a 120-layer pattern-welded steel forged from alternating layers of high-carbon 1084 and nickel-alloy 15N20. This construction offers exceptional edge retention, toughness, as well as produce intricate patterns.

The end result will be a gorgeous, long lasting knife, ready to take center stage in the kitchen.

The workshop is suitable for absolute beginners, but some physical output is required.
