Last weekend a meeting was held with Peter and Warwick who run Maribyrnong River Cruises, who berth their flagship "Blackbird" just 200m upstream from the forge. Peter and Warwick have agreed to pick up all Blacksmiths Festival dinner guests at 6pm from the Watersides wharf, take us all for a quick cruise into the Port of Melbourne and then upriver to Pipemakers Park. The dinner will be held in/outside the bluestone building within the park which is managed by the Living Museum of the West. After the dinner, the Blackbird will return all dinner guests back to the wharf at Waterside. Spaces for the cruise/dinner are strictly limited to 30 persons.
